College basketball coach John Wooden once told his players to “be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.”
“The true test of a man’s character,” he explained. “is what he does when no one is watching.”
Character marks who we are as a person, and it influences the choices we make in our lives. We should all strive for honorable character. Qualities of honesty, courage, dependability, loyalty and integrity.
Good character is what makes people believe in you and trust you and it’s the most important asset you have.
